Before you get started
- Which AI tools are supported?
- Claude Code, Codex Desktop / CLI, DeepSeek Harness, Antigravity, Cursor, Grok CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Kimi, GLM, Pi, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, ZCode, CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy and Qwen Code. Available activity, quota and balance information varies by client and account. Supported permission requests from Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy, ZCode, Qwen Code and the Qoder builds can be answered on the island. Claude Code, ZCode and compatible DeepSeek Harness web hosts also support questions. What each client shows
- Will it work on my devices?
- macOS 14, iOS 17 and watchOS 10 or later. A screen without a notch defaults to Dynamic Dock, with agent logos along any of its four edges. Drag the HUD to move it, or choose notch mode in display settings. Keep the Mac and iPhone apps updated for cross-device viewing. Automatic Live Activities require iOS 18; Live Activities in Apple Watch Smart Stack also require watchOS 11. Mac notch and Dynamic Dock guide
- What do I need Agent HUD Remote for?
- To view a Mac’s usage and task progress on your other devices. Local monitoring, quotas, token usage and reminders on Mac are free, with no subscription required. The iPhone and Apple Watch apps are free to download; Agent HUD Remote is a subscription you start in the iPhone app.
- How is Agent HUD Open different?
- Agent HUD Open is the Apache 2.0 macOS edition you can build from source for local activity and usage tracking. It does not make Mac data available on your other devices or provide push services.
- Are my conversations or API keys uploaded?
- AI account credentials are not shared with your other devices or our services. A session shared with your other devices includes its title, status and the agent’s last visible reply. While Conversations on iPhone is on, as it is by default, your prompts and the agents’ visible replies from Claude Code, Codex, Grok CLI, Grok Bot and Antigravity are shared with your iPhone for read-only viewing, end-to-end encrypted and kept for 7 days. This also includes text added during Claude Code and Codex turns. Turning it off on the Mac deletes the shared conversations. Available content depends on local records on your Mac; Grok Bot uses the content available in its local cache. We cannot read the shared conversations. Full conversations from other clients stay on your Mac. Our notification service processes session titles and status for Live Activities and deletes them within a day.
- Can I hover to check agent status and remaining usage?
- Yes. Hover over the Mac notch or Dynamic Dock to see the panel. Its delay and optional Option-key requirement are configurable. Plan limits, reset times and local session tokens are separate readings, and availability varies by client. Check status, usage and reset times
- Does a reset countdown mean my quota has refreshed?
- It shows the provider’s reported reset time. Agent HUD confirms a reset with a new usage reading; a timer reaching zero alone does not prove that allowance was restored. Understand quota windows and resets
- Who develops Agent HUD?
- Agent HUD is maintained by Jazzen Chen. The official Mac core is jazzenchen/agent-hud-open on GitHub, under Apache 2.0. Agent HUD Remote is the paid cross-device feature used with the official Agent HUD iPhone and Apple Watch apps.
- How are costs worked out?
- Pay-as-you-go accounts use their own prices. Everything else is an estimate at each vendor’s published API prices, marked ≈: what the same calls would cost through the API, not what a subscription charges. On the Mac’s Tokens page, a vendor with separate China and international prices is priced on the platform each client connects to, and yuan and dollars are added up separately, never converted.
