Using Agent HUD on more than one Mac

A laptop and a desktop share an allowance without sharing anything else. That is the whole shape of it, and it explains what looks odd at first.

One allowance, two machines

Quota belongs to the account, not to the Mac. Both machines ask the same provider about the same account, so both see the same windows, the same percentages and the same reset times — and work you did on one has already moved the figure the other shows.

So nothing is double-counted: neither Mac is adding its own tally to a total. Each is reporting the provider's answer for an allowance that was always one allowance.

What each Mac keeps to itself

Token counts and session history come from the records the client wrote on that machine, so each Mac shows what it ran. The desktop knows nothing of last night's session on the laptop.

That is why the two can show the same quota and different histories at the same time. One is the provider's number; the other is a local record.

Cursor is the exception

Cursor reports usage for the whole account rather than for one machine, so its events arrive already covering whatever you did anywhere. Rows seen from another Mac merge instead of duplicating, and those sessions are never marked running or attributed to the machine you are looking at.

It is the one place where work done elsewhere shows up in the history here, and it is not a mistake when it does.

The Macs do not talk to each other

No Mac reads another's data, and none of them syncs to another. Each one reads its own clients and asks the providers itself.

Bringing them together on one screen is what the phone does, which is a separate thing and not open yet.

Common questions

Will my usage be counted twice if both Macs are watching?
No. Quota comes from the provider and belongs to your account, so both machines are reading one figure rather than each adding its own.
Why does my other Mac's token history not show here?
Because token counts come from records written on the machine that ran the work. Each Mac shows its own; nothing is missing, it simply lives elsewhere.
Why does Cursor show sessions I did not run on this Mac?
Cursor reports usage account-wide rather than per machine. Those sessions are never marked running and are not attributed to this Mac, but the usage is genuinely yours.
Can one Mac read another Mac's usage?
No. Macs never sync with each other, in either direction.
How do I see all my Macs on one screen?
That is what the phone side is for, and it is not open yet.
